My Tarot Foundation.

My understanding of tarot is that the deck it's self is the "Universe in Potential" and that when we shuffle the deck we are rearranging or creating the Universe to reflect the question at its center. The Universe, and tarot alike are a set of principals in motion, constantly evolving into the next principal.. (By definition, principals are Universal Law.)

There are specific 7 Arts of Tarot, 3 are considered Minor Arts and 4 are considered Major Arts. In hierarchal order of depth they are.
Minor Arts: 1)Divination 2)Farsight 3)Insight (personal)
Major Arts: 4)Meditation 5)Visualization 6)Contemplation 7)Pattern Making and
Story Telling

Tarot is considered a living system, meaning it evolves and transforms, the same as principals (or emotion) does. Principals can not be changed, altered or bent, the moment a principal is influenced in that fashion, it transforms into the principal it was manipulated towards. A prime example is where a passive aggressive action/statement is disguised as an expression of right. It sounds good but feels wrong and often provokes a reaction.

In the old days Seers were people that saw things on deeper more complete levels of being, hence the term see'er or seer. This is also the intention of tarot that is well beyond the idea of "outcome". Understanding theses principals allows the knowledge of outcome with the "wisdom to change the things we can" and deal appropriately with the others.

Historically "The Arts" or Tarot. even magic, if you will were/is about developing self awareness, understanding and empathy, the purifying of self, the balancing of ego and identity, and the building of soul and is linked to Alchemy, The Holy Grail and "The Golden Soul". Tarot it's self is about seeing what is actually there and knowing what that produces. This knowledge and ability is not about the ego or comfort of knowing something, it's about the accountability of our choices and response(s) to outcomes. This is one of the key principals of "integrity". Integrity is a requirement to develop character and build soul. This is also our ability to create and or alter parts of our future.

If one is not in the action of building character, one is in the action of dissolving good character.
